The Surly Wednesday E-Bike Conversion

Checklist

1) BBSHD 120mm Bafang Motor

2) Mechanical Brake Levers with Bafang shutoff

3) Speed sensor

4) Shift sensor shutoff

5) 20mm of Bottom Bracket spacers

6) Chainring 

       The Complete Wednesday 2x10 big ring is 34t. The top normal pedal speed is about 14mph.

       The low range is extremely low, to the point of too slow to stay up. 

       The needs of the conversion was for a bit more speed. 

       A 42t LEKKIE offset chainring and keep the existing cassette should provide a bit more speed. 
      With the Bafang motor, the low end should be ample for trails and the high end sufficient
      and programming holding to assist about 20mph. 

       The LEKKIE 42t offset chainring for chain was chosen for chain line stability and alignment.

7)  Lekkie one nut - a easy securing nut to mount the motor. The Bafang lock nut was also used.

8) Cable sleeve (to manage cables up the seat tube)

9) An Anderson to XT60 electrical connector was used to connect the Bafang motor to the 48v 10ah
    battery
10) Acorn Roll Tool bag used the secure/manage excess cables around Jones H-Bar.
